Debounce
Waiting until the user stops typing for a moment before reacting, for example before searching.
Definition
Instead of sending a request on every keystroke, a debounced search waits until the user pauses (for example 300 ms). This reduces server load and flicker. Testers type fast and slow, and watch the network log for extra requests and out-of-order results.
In practice
Typing "headphones" should trigger one search request after you stop typing, not ten requests for "h", "he", "hea" and so on.
