Logcat
Also called: adb logcat, Device log
Android's system log, read with adb logcat, where apps write errors and crash details.
Definition
When an Android app crashes, logcat usually contains the reason (the stack trace). Testers capture the relevant part and attach it to bug reports. On iOS, the Xcode console or the Console app serve the same purpose.
In practice
Reproduce the crash with the device connected, run adb logcat, and copy the lines starting with "FATAL EXCEPTION".
