Truncation
Text that gets cut off because it doesn't fit its space.
Definition
Truncation is when text is shortened or clipped, sometimes intentionally with an ellipsis (...), sometimes as a bug where important information is hidden. It often appears with long names, translations, small screens or large text sizes.
In practice
In German, the button "Save changes" becomes "Änderungen speichern" and shows as "Änderungen spei", with the rest cut off.
