Universal Link / App Link
Also called: App Link
An https link that opens the app if installed and the website otherwise.
Definition
iOS calls them Universal Links and Android App Links. They rely on verification files hosted on the website, so a misconfigured domain opens the browser instead of the app.
In practice
Tapping https://shop.example/order/42 in an email opens the order in the app, or on the website if the app isn't installed.
