Cookie

A small piece of data a website stores in your browser, for example to keep you logged in.

Definition

Cookies are small pieces of text a website asks the browser to store to remember things like login sessions, preferences or the contents of a cart. The browser sends them back to the server with every request to that site. Testers check behavior with cookies cleared or blocked, and that consent choices are respected.

In practice

After clearing cookies you are logged out of the shop and your cart is empty, which is expected. But if you rejected analytics cookies and they are still set, that is a bug.
