Cross-browser testing
Checking a website works and looks right in different browsers and browser versions.
Definition
Cross-browser testing verifies a website on the browsers its users actually use, such as Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge, on desktop and mobile. Browsers render pages and support features slightly differently, so layouts and features can break in only one of them.
In practice
A date picker works in Chrome but shows a plain text field in Safari on iPhone, so users cannot pick a date.
