Responsive design
Also called: Responsive web design, RWD
A website layout that adapts to different screen sizes, from phones to large monitors.
Definition
Responsive design means the same website rearranges and resizes its content to fit the screen, using flexible layouts and breakpoints. Testers check layouts at many widths, in portrait and landscape, and look for overlapping, hidden or overflowing content.
In practice
On a 375-pixel-wide phone screen, the desktop navigation should collapse into a hamburger menu instead of overflowing off the side of the page.
