Grey-box testing
Testing from the outside with some knowledge of the inside, like the database or API.
Definition
Grey-box testing combines both views: you test through the user interface but use partial knowledge of internals, such as API calls, database tables or logs, to design better tests and confirm results.
In practice
After changing your email in the app, you check in DevTools that the API request sent the new email and returned a 200 response.
