A program that sits between the app and the server so you can watch and change network traffic.
Definition
Tools like Charles Proxy, Proxyman and Fiddler show every request and response, and can modify them, slow them down or block them. Testers use them to check what an app sends and to simulate server errors.
In practice
Using Proxyman's map local feature, you replace the real product list response with an empty one to test the empty state.
