Network throttling
Also called: Throttling, Network conditioning
Deliberately slowing the connection to test how an app behaves on poor networks.
Definition
Testers simulate 3G, high latency, packet loss or offline mode with DevTools, proxy tools or device developer settings. Slow networks expose missing loading states, timeouts, race conditions and double submits.
In practice
With "Slow 3G" enabled, the login button can be tapped three times before the first request finishes.
