Push notification
Also called: Push, Notification
A message an app sends to the device that appears even when the app is closed.
Definition
Push notifications are alerts delivered by a server to a mobile device (or browser). Testers check permission prompts, delivery when the app is in the foreground, background or closed, the content, and that tapping the notification opens the right screen.
In practice
Tapping a "Your order has shipped" notification should open that order's tracking screen, not just the home screen.
