Quality control
Also called: QC
Checking the finished product for defects; testing is the main quality control activity.
Definition
Quality control (QC) is product-oriented: it examines what has been built to find defects before it is released. Testing, inspections and reviews of the actual product are QC activities. QA tries to prevent defects, QC tries to detect them.
In practice
A tester runs the checkout test cases on the new build of a shopping app and reports that the discount code field rejects valid codes.
