Sanity testing
A quick, focused check that a specific fix or change works and nothing obvious around it broke.
Definition
Sanity testing is a narrow, quick check done after a small change or bug fix, to decide whether it is reasonable to continue with more testing. It is narrow but goes a little deeper into one area, and is usually unscripted.
