Skeleton screen
Also called: Skeleton loader, Shimmer
A grey placeholder layout shaped like the real content, shown while data loads.
Definition
Skeletons feel faster than spinners and reduce layout shift. Testers check they're replaced by real content, an empty state or an error, never left on screen forever.
In practice
The orders list shows three grey bars while loading, then the real orders appear in the same places.
