State restoration
Bringing the user back to the same screen and data after the OS closed the app in the background.
Definition
When the OS kills a backgrounded app to free memory, users expect to return exactly where they were. Apps must save and restore screens, form input and scroll positions; testers simulate the kill on purpose.
In practice
After an hour in the background, reopening the banking app should still show the half-filled transfer form, not the home screen.
