Think-aloud protocol
Also called: Thinking aloud
A usability test method where participants say what they are thinking while they try tasks.
Definition
The facilitator asks the participant to keep talking ('I'm looking for... I expected...') and stays neutral, without helping. Hearing expectations and confusion in the user's own words explains why a problem happens, not just that it happens.
In practice
'I'd expect the address to be under Profile... no... maybe Settings?' tells you the option is hard to find.
