Continuous delivery / deployment (CD)
Also called: CD
Delivery keeps every passing build ready to release; deployment releases every passing change automatically.
Definition
With continuous delivery a person decides when to release. With continuous deployment every change that passes the pipeline goes to production without a human step. Mobile apps rarely do the latter because of store review.
In practice
The web shop deploys to production automatically after the pipeline passes; the app is submitted to the stores by hand.
