Release
Making a version of the software available to users.
Definition
A release is the act of delivering a specific build to users, for example publishing it to the App Store and Google Play or deploying it to a website. Releases are often preceded by a final round of regression and smoke testing.
In practice
Version 5.2 of a banking app is released to 10% of Android users first, and to everyone a week later if no serious crashes appear.
