Double submit
Also called: Double click bug, Duplicate submission
A bug where an action runs twice because the user tapped or clicked twice quickly.
Definition
If a button stays active while a request is in progress, a quick double tap or a slow network can send the same request twice. This can create duplicate orders, payments, messages or accounts. Buttons should disable or ignore repeated taps while working.
In practice
A user double-taps "Pay" on a slow connection and is charged twice for one order.
