Integration testing
Testing that different parts of the system work correctly together.
Definition
Integration testing checks the interfaces and interactions between components or systems, such as the app and its backend API, or the app and a payment provider. Many bugs hide in the gaps between pieces that each work fine on their own.
In practice
The app and the payment service both work alone, but when combined the app sends the price in euros while the service expects cents, so a 10 euro order is charged 0.10.
