Locale

Regional settings that control language and formats for dates, numbers and currency.

Definition

A locale combines language and region, such as en-US or sr-RS. It changes how dates (3/4 vs 4.3.), numbers (1,000.50 vs 1.000,50) and currencies are displayed. Testers switch the device locale to check formatting and translations.

In practice

A price shown as "1,299.00" in English should appear as "1.299,00" with a Serbian locale.
