Date picker
Also called: Calendar picker, Date input
A control for choosing a date, usually as a calendar grid or scrolling wheels.
Definition
Date pickers prevent typos in dates but bring their own risks: time zones, locale formats, leap years, disabled dates and ranges. Testers check boundaries such as month ends, Feb 29, past and future limits, and how dates are shown in different languages.
In practice
A hotel booking app should not let the check-out date be before the check-in date, and must show "03/04" correctly as 3 April in the UK and March 4 in the US.
