Non-functional testing
Testing how well the software works, such as speed, security, usability and accessibility.
Definition
Non-functional testing checks quality characteristics rather than specific features. It covers performance, security, usability, accessibility, compatibility, reliability and more. A feature can work correctly and still fail non-functional testing.
In practice
The search works, but it takes 9 seconds to show results on a 3G connection. That is a non-functional (performance) problem.
