Postcondition
What must be true after a use case or test has finished.
Definition
Preconditions are what must be true before you start; postconditions are the state you check afterward, such as data saved, money charged once or a link no longer working. Checking postconditions catches bugs that a happy confirmation screen hides.
In practice
After a reorder, a new order exists, the card was charged once and the original order is unchanged.
