System Usability Scale (SUS)
Also called: SUS
A 10-question questionnaire that gives a usability score from 0 to 100.
Definition
Created by John Brooke in 1986. Participants rate 10 statements from strongly disagree to strongly agree, and the answers convert to a score from 0 to 100. The score is not a percentage; around 68 is often cited as average. It is useful for comparing versions, not for finding specific problems.
In practice
After a usability round, the redesigned checkout scores 78 on SUS, up from 61 for the old one.
