Timeout
The time limit after which an app stops waiting for a response and gives up.
Definition
Without a timeout, an app may spin forever on a dead connection. Testers check that a timeout exists, is reasonable, and leads to a clear message with a retry.
In practice
After 30 seconds without a response, the app should show 'Can't connect. Try again.' instead of an endless spinner.
