Toast
Also called: Snackbar, Notification banner
A short, temporary message that appears briefly and disappears on its own, like 'Message sent'.
Definition
Toasts (called snackbars in Material Design) confirm an action without interrupting the user. They disappear after a few seconds and may include one action, such as Undo. Testers check timing, stacking, position, readability and screen reader announcements.
In practice
After archiving an email, "Conversation archived · Undo" appears at the bottom for four seconds. Tapping Undo should restore the email.
