Touch slop
Also called: Touch threshold
The small distance a finger may move before a touch counts as movement instead of a tap.
Definition
If the threshold is too small, taps become accidental swipes; too large, and swipes feel sluggish. Gesture bugs often come down to these thresholds.
In practice
A tiny wobble while tapping an email opens the swipe-to-delete action instead.
