WCAG
Also called: Web Content Accessibility Guidelines
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, the main international standard for accessibility.
Definition
WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) are published by the W3C and define testable success criteria at levels A, AA and AAA. Most laws and companies target level AA. Although written for the web, they are also widely applied to mobile apps.
In practice
WCAG AA requires a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 for normal text, so light grey text on a white background often fails.
