Test strategy
The high-level, long-term approach to testing used across a company or product.
Definition
A test strategy sets out the general principles of how testing is done: which levels and types of testing are used, what is automated, which tools and environments are standard, and how risk is handled. It is broader and more stable than a test plan, which applies it to one project.
In practice
A company's mobile test strategy says that every release gets automated unit tests, a manual smoke test on five real devices and exploratory testing of new features.
